SO IT GOES (Kim Richey)
-----------------------
[Actually in D; capo 7.]
[Each chord is two beats (half of a measure), except "D [stop]" is a whole
measure, and pairs of chords joined by hyphens are a whole measure total.]
Notes on chord fingerings:
G: 320033. C: 332010. D: xx0232. A7: x02020. G6/B: x20030.
Em7: 022000 -> 022030 (it looks like Kim does a hammer-on from 0 to 3).
C(9): in the intro, Kim plays 332030; in the verse, it's x32030. (The two
voicings have slightly different hand positions.) In the chorus, there's
also a quick C(9) that's just 330010 (a C with the middle finger lifted).
(F#): not really a chord, it's just a single note: hit the low E string
at the 2nd fret and bend it a little bit before the Em (Em7) chord.
(F#) Em7 C(9) D [stop] (F#) Em7 C(9) D [stop]
[intro]
Em7 C(9) D G - G/F#
Some learn early and some learn hard
Em7 C(9) D G - G/F#
Somebody called me in from my backyard
Em7 C(9) D G - G/F#
And I heard the whispers, something was wrong
Em7 C(9) D D
And I knew you were gone
C C(9) - C D D
But the sun came up and the sun went down
C C(9) - C D Em - D
The spring lies waiting beneath the frozen ground
Am Em D [stop]
And I'll be seeing you around
(F#) Em7 C(9) D D Em7 C(9) D D
So it goes, so it goes
And I made some good friends, and I made mistakes
I lost my religion, and I found my faith
And I tried to walk down every path I chose
So it goes
And the sun comes up and the sun goes down
The spring lies waiting beneath the frozen ground
And I'll be seeing you around
So it goes, so it goes
A7 A7 C(9) G6/B C(9)
Seems like a small offering in the grand scheme of things
G6/B C(9) G6/B
But it gets me through, yeah, the thought of losing...
Em7 C(9) G D Em7 C(9) D D
you________, la la la la, laaaaa
And the sun comes up and the sun goes down
The spring lies waiting beneath the frozen ground
And I'll be seeing you around
So it goes, so it goes
[outro with la la la's]
