The first day, I stopped in Yreka on my way down I-5 from Oregon. I turned east at Redding and went up into the foothills, then worked my way south toward Tehama Wildlife Area. I descended into Red Bluff on the worst road I've ever driven on; I can't believe my tiny car survived.
The second day, near the Sacramento River northeast of Red Bluff, was much less traumatic for my car (and me).
