The mountains to the left (north) of the Skykomish River are Gunn Peak and Baring Mountain. The mountains on the south side are Palmer Mountain, Philadelphia Mountain, Mt. Index, and Mt. Persis. On the far horizon above the river is Mt. Daniel, with Maloney Ridge in front of it on the right.
