THE OTHER SIDE OF TOWN (Kim Richey & Randy Scruggs)
---------------------------------------------------
[Actually in C#; capo 4.]
[The chord I've written as Bm/G is actually Bm(9)/G or Gmaj7-5, depending on
how you look at it. It's not hard to play; just make a normal Bm barre chord
and move your middle finger from the B string to the low E string: 324422.]
[The chords I've written here are from a performance back in October 1998.
A more recent performance showed the following changes: (1) The instrumental
and "doo doo" parts are consistently A E F#m G. (2) In the verse, they play
G, not Bm/G. (3) The structure of the song is a little different.]

A E Bm D
Doo doo yeah, doo doo yeah, doo doo da daa da daa da daa
A E Bm Bm/G
Doo doo yeah, doo doo da daaa

A E Bm D
You've found a coffee shop you think you're gonna like a lot
        A E Bm Bm/G
And it's on the other side of town
A E Bm D
Nobody knows you there, it doesn't matter what you wear
A E Bm Bm/G
On the other side of town

Doo doo yeah, doo doo yeah, doo doo da daa da daa da daa
Doo doo yeah, doo doo da daaa

If anybody thinks to look, they won't find you in the book
'Cause you're on the other side of town
Life there suits you just fine, out of sight, you're out of mind
      A E Bm G
You're on the other side of town

              D A Em G
You can come out now, the coast is clear, old ghosts don't run around here
D A Em G
No loose ends to tie you down
                  Bm A Em G
You don't have to worry that you'll run into somebody who remembers you
Bm G Em Em7
From that other side of town

Doo doo yeah, doo doo yeah, doo doo da daa da daa da daa
Doo doo yeah, doo doo da daaa, yeah yeah yeah

Lay low for a little while where you don't have to fake a smile
On the other side of town
When you're ready, I'll be too, with open arms to welcome you
A E Bm G
Back on the other side of town

You can come out now, the coast is clear, old ghosts don't run around here
There's no loose ends to tie you down
You don't have to worry that you'll run into somebody who remembers you
From that other side of town

Bm A G G
Careful you don't go so far
Bm A G G
You lose the best of who you are
A E Bm D A E Bm G
[instrumental]

You can come out now, the coast is clear, old ghosts don't run around here
There's no loose ends to tie you down
You don't have to worry that you'll run into somebody who remembers you
From that other side of town

Doo doo yeah, doo doo yeah, doo doo da daa da daa da daa
Doo doo yeah, da doo da daaa

Doo doo yeah, doo doo yeah, daa doo da daa da daa da daa
Ba baa, doo doo yeahhhh
